Founded by Elizabeth Thomas , Phonologix Health Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is an assistive technology company working to make pediatric speech therapy more accessible. In India, where trained speech-language pathologists are scarce—especially outside major cities—families often struggle to get timely support for their children.
What are they building?
The team developed Speech Ally , an e-learning platform that supports early intervention for children with communication disorders such as autism, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, and speech sound disorders. By equipping parents, educators, and therapists with scalable, user-friendly tools, Phonologix is helping bridge care gaps and enabling more children to reach their full potential.
The why?
Elizabeth Thomas, Founder
With over 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, Elizabeth Thomas witnessed how thousands of children were left behind due to systemic gaps in access—long waitlists, a lack of trained therapists, and limited support in schools and rural areas. That frustration turned into motivation.
She realized that reaching one child at a time wasn’t enough. The only way to make a real difference was to build something scalable.
With clinical expertise, deep insight from her professional network, and support from tech partners, she launched Speech Ally —a digital platform designed to bring therapy tools to the people who need them most. By empowering parents as co-therapists and giving teachers easy-to-use activities, Phonologix is turning care into something that’s not only more accessible but also more inclusive.
SEED Inclusivity Program Journey
Phonologix joined the SEED Inclusivity Program with a strong product and a clear mission—but the journey helped them unlock the mindset and tools to grow further.
A Shift in Vision Through weekly mentoring sessions with Entrepreneur-in-Residence Tom Sebastian, the founder gained new clarity on how to scale impact. The consistent feedback challenged assumptions, moving the focus beyond product development to building partnerships and systems for scale.
From Idea to Action One major breakthrough was launching their first B2B pilot with a therapy center in Hyderabad. This real-world validation helped shape their strategy for working with institutions and reaching more children through existing ecosystems.
Experimentation in Practice Phonologix applied the program’s experimentation methodology to test assumptions with therapy centers—gathering insights on operational needs, refining their pitch, and understanding the broader rehabilitation landscape in India.
Early Wins and Recognition The feedback from mentors and pitch training gave the team the confidence to apply for funding—and win it. They secured a grant from HDFC to continue growing their work.
On-the-Ground Impact At a special school for the deaf in Pune, they curated speech and language activities on Speech Ally and trained teachers to guide students. The program was met with enthusiastic feedback and marked a key example of their work empowering educators to extend care.
